Name

Hola!

I am a designer and developer who received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut with a minor in Digital Arts. I was born in Masaya, Nicaragua, and immigrated to the USA with my family. This perspective has led me to believe that design conducted with social awareness allows for the exploration of identity in different contexts. Through the design process, artists can understand and represent the ways in which people are influenced by their cultural and socioeconomic environments. My work finds its meaning in the studied interactions of those around me, as well as my own experiences navigating life.

Experience

I have significant experience working in the industry as a UX/UI designer and developer, in addition to 8 years of freelancing. While working at numerous agencies and companies, I've used HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Github, WordPress, static site generators, SquareSpace and more in the completion of projects. Being fluent in many programs – such as Sketch.app, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, AfterEffects, and VisualCode – has allowed me to accept a broad range of project opportunities. Beyond my personal skills, my time at these agencies has provided an opportunity to collaborate with exceptional designers and developers. My constant desire to learn more exposed me to myriad development and creation methodologies, including interaction design, user experience, and agile methodology. I consistently focused on process, development, and learning, which I love.

A little more

Outside of the development space, I love mango black tea lemonade, my two cats, miniatures, and fireworks. I have a great love for adventure, which enables my compulsive need to photo-document everything. I love the friends and family who have contributed to my bright and exciting life.
